Start With Why Book Review
Start With Why by Simon Sinek is a book about knowing your purpose and using it to fuel the work of your life.
As leaders, we champion change and positive impact. Simon Sinek believes true change and impact begins with what you believe, not with what you know.
Overall I liked the book. Sinek uses successful and unsuccessful companies as well as historical figures to illustrate the benefits of knowing your purpose.
I watched Sinek’s Ted Talk on this topic years ago before it was a book. Since then I have structured presentations using the Why, What, How format. It is effective.
The book goes deeper and provides some great stories and examples of putting your “Why” to work. Steve Jobs and Apple are used extensively in the book, but you do hear about the Wright Brothers and Southwest Airlines too.
This book is worth listening to and applying to your own cause.
Here’s Living Third’s “Why”.
Leadership means putting the welfare of others before your own and guiding them to a better place. I challenge others to level up their faith, family, and self-development. One on one interaction and sharing what I learn with other men is how I put leadership into action.
